緩やかに反り、真っ直ぐ放射状に突き出し、筋張ったゴツゴツ感の細い枝。　　東西に連なる丘陵を乗り越え、南方からやってくる高気圧風、迷惑げに上下左右に避けて揺れる。　　丸みのある薄い葉が３枚ずつ、天空をしっかっり受け止めん、深山萩。　　初夏から秋まで、3枚の葉と同じ付け根から伸ばした細い茎に、豆科特有の白と紫の小さな花を絶やさない。　　ぼってりした鞘状、紫の蕾が開花、赤紫の鍔が明るく仰ぎかわいい”クリオネ”が登場。　　秋、黄に透けるまばらな薄く葉が美しい。
