田植えの前の頃は、きっと東風が吹き、季節外れの砂塵を巻き上げる。　　風邪のような症状で、数日病床に伏すのが常だった。　　みんな出掛けてしまったガランとした昼、お土産が枕元に置かれていた。　　紫がかった青臭い草の茎をポキン！と手折り、スル！スル！皮を剥ぐ。　　恐る恐る口に入れる、苦い初めての味。　　未だ野菜を“生”で食べることの無かった頃。　　酸っぱくて苦い、えぐみもある、シャキシャキした食感はとっても新鮮だった。　　美味しいとはとうてい思えないものだった。
