紀伊水道の西岸、那賀川が排した土砂を海流が倦まず押し流し、北に向かって延びた大きな砂州の西岸の堤防。　　砂州の西寄り、場違いとも思えるな堅牢な国道が南北に走り、堅牢な建造物が聳える海軍基地跡の正門で終わる。　　遠くから、砂煙を蹴立てて砂利道を走るトラックなどが見えた。　　バスの終点でありＵターンして暫く停車、時間調整を行って発車する。　　よく手入れされた松や芝生があちこちに残っており、当時のありさまを想像させた。

♯♭♪ (*^.^*) ：　Archie Shepp 1 2 3 4/ The Cry Of My People　♪　♪　　　管弦楽団編成、ソロボーカル、コーラス付き。　　ピアノのイントロ、ゴツゴツしたブルースモードのリズム、アルトの流麗なソロ元気いっぱいのゴスペル・コーラスの助奏。　　ゆっくりした憂愁の漂うストリングアンサンブル、大地・森林の目覚めを想わせる、草原に輝きと水が満ち渡り生き生きと精気を迸せる。　　一気に速度を得、トロンボーンの励ましで駆け出す、匂い立ち・沸き立ち・たなびき・しばし項垂れたりのスィート・コーン・リードが皆を導く。　　コーラスのオブリガート、管弦アンサンブルが大きく振りかぶりコーダ。　　ざっくり屹立するゴスペル・ソロ、『アンノウ！ ……、……ウ！』コーラスのオブリガート。　　憂愁のストリング・アンサンブルの嘆きの吐露、実に聴き応えのあるヴォーカル（Joe Lee Wilson）そして助奏するシェップのリードの美しさに息をのむ。　　とても低いサウンドでのむせび泣きに、想わずハッとする。　　渺々と降り注ぎ、ゆっくり流れる、悲嘆・憂愁のストリングアンサンブル。　　一転、軽快なテンポ、パカ！パカ！、粘りつき・萌え立つ甘いテナーサックス、『……ァ』叫び没す。　　部厚く重いいコーラス、管弦アンサンブルのゴスペル・メロディー、ふっと軽くなるとともに軽快なテンポを獲得、陽気なコンガの歓喜、ホーンのメロディーの発表、テナーサックスが萌え立つ。　　『アッフカンド～ラム……』速いコンガの心地よい鼓動、ソプラノ・サックスの沸き立ち・萌え立ち・匂い立つスウィーコーンの瑞々しい生かじりのヨロコビが駆け出す。　　ジョーリー・ウィルソンのソロ、ひたひた・ザクザク心に刺さる、ビーバー・ハリス（Ds）、デイヴバレル（P）、ボンゴの嬉しいリズム、降り注ぐ憂愁のストリングアンサンブル、フリー・フォーム風にたっぷりソロをとるシェップ（Ts）、甘いヴォイスで歌うJoe Lee Wilson、スパッ！と助奏を挿すシェップのテナーサックスは見事。　Rest Enough (Song To Mother)（4:38）、 A Prayer（6:29）、All God's Children Got A Home In The Universe（2:59）、 The Lady（5:31）、The Cry Of My People（5:46）、African Drum Suite [Part One]（0:35）、African Drum Suite [Part Two]（7:32）、Come Sunday（9:37）　　A.
