秋、黄に透けるまばらな薄く葉が美しい。　　地面から数本、節くれた暗褐色の堅い枝。　　盛夏、数センチの軸に泡のような白い花。　　晩秋、葉の落ちた暗褐色の枝に、赤い小さな実が一際目立つ、深山桜。　　初夏、雨の後、旺盛な勢いであちこちに筍を林立させる、笹。　　節々でクネクネと曲がり、皺のあり先が枯れ白い、南風に煽られサラサラ優しく囁く。　　信州の高原で見た、クマザサはとても大きく白い縁取りがあった。　　サルトリイバラ、クロモジ、ツタの連なる樹木の下。
